Things aren’t always black or white. For some shoes, like these Chanel ones (above), they’re both.
With today being the first of September, Labor Day rolling around in less than a week, and fall kicking off in 20 or so days, we are quite definitely in a period of transition. We’ve all used the cross-seasonal cardigans, but it seems the new look for shoes is decidedly on the fence about what color to be, resulting in these bipolar shoes that are at the same time easier to match to outfits, and harder.
These heels, which often feature something neutral, like a black heel, paired with a vibrantly colored strap, are showing up everywhere from the runway to the red carpet. You could also go the Solange Knowles route: taking a tip from the Phantom of the Opera, her shoes are split down the center in gold and black.

It seems the spectator pump has met its match here, with shoes that one-up the classic style by fashionably adding more color and, oftentimes, more interesting cuts for a look that is effortlessly chic. Also, since there’s no mixing of the colors or any weird cut out shapes of one color against the other, these shoes look clean and polished.
These bipolar shoes are a great way to add some punch color into any outfit, a nice alternative to wearing solid black just to wear some candy colored shoes that mach almost nothing else in the average wardrobe.

Love it. Love the shoes. Love the title.
