Feeling like “a fish out of water,” actress Debra Messing spent Thursday on Capitol Hill. Messing testified in before the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa and Global health to discuss funding for AIDS.

After giving her testimony, the “Will & Grace” star talked with notable Reps Waxman, Lowey, and Engel (among others), which was somehow thrilling for the fiery redhead, who told POLITICO, “I am obsessed with punditry and watch all the political shows so this was a treat for me.”

Messing added that she is set to play an “Ann Coulter-esque” politico in upcoming show “Wright vs. Wrong” on ABC, went so far as to say about the controversial conservative: “I would be thrilled to hear from her camp, and thrilled to meet her.”
