Just Jen: Obama <3′s Daytime TV

On Thursday morning, Barack Obama took a break from vacation number 256 and made his debut on ABC’s, “The View.” When asked by the panel why he chose to appear on the daytime talk show he responded, “I was trying to find a show that Michelle actually watched.” Are you sure that it doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that the View’s audience is 79% female and you just happen to have a 45% approval rate among women??

While Joy “I hate all conservatives” Behar was in her happy place, Elizabeth Hasselbeck was noticeably less enthusiastic. In reply to Hasselbeck’s question/claim that America seems to be in a perpetual state of “joblessness,” Obama claimed that he has actually “saved” jobs. And of course by “saving jobs” he means that 500 billion was spent to create a mere 600,000 jobs. High five! In addition to dodging politically related questions from Hasselbeck, Obama proved that he is a hip dude by saying that he has Jay-Z on his iPod, and that he actually does not know who Snooki is. Not familiar with GTL? Rude!!

I hear that Maury Povich is in the works to have Barack host the, “I’m a million percent sure you the Baby Daddy!” episode.

The Hill’s 50 Most Beautiful

Alexis Latifi, number 1

The notorious list is out, and, let’s face it: people in Washington are not known for their looks. However, I am glad to see that the top two women are Republicans, followed by number 3 being Senator Gillibrand. I’m no ageist, but isn’t she too old to be on this list? I mean if you’re hair looks more like straw than actual protein fibers due to several decades of bleaching, I don’t think you should be on this list. Especially not above Sarah Palin.

Also–and please call me out if you feel differently–almost every single person that could pass for “attractive” by normal world standards is, ahem, NOT a Democrat. This is not just a bias. Seriously. See for yourself.

I would also be remiss to not call attention to fellow Vandy alum and immaculately dressed friend Sarah Spear, garnering a well-deserved spot on the list:

AZ: Just kidding! We like being terrorized by illegals

Since Obama <3s living off of the hard work and resources of others, the comparison of kicking out people living here illegally to mass murdering God’s chosen people is so poignant. And accurate.

(Reuters) – A judge on Wednesday blocked key parts of Arizona’s tough new immigration law hours before it was to take effect, handing a victory to the Obama administration as it tries to take control of the issue.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer said she would file an appeal to reinstate the provisions, which had popular support but were opposed by President Barack Obama and immigration and human rights groups.

“This fight is far from over,” Brewer said, adding that “at the end of what is certain to be a long legal struggle, Arizona will prevail in its right to protect our citizens.”

The Republican-controlled state legislature passed the law three months ago to try to drive nearly half a million illegal immigrants out of Arizona and stem the flow of human and drug smugglers over the border from Mexico.

The provisions blocked by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton included one requiring a police officer to determine the immigration status of a person detained or arrested if the officer believed the person was not in the country legally.

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding playlist

http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/keg-stand.jpg

So apparently the former first daughter has fratastic taste. TMZ has reported that these little gems will be on the playlist at her wedding: ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” U2′s “Beautiful Day,” and Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough.”

Wait, playlist? Will there also be kegstands and cops checking IDs at the door? Do you have to know a brother to get in? Will there be a sign up sheet for beer pong and a separate table for flip cup?I know they’re democrats but there are some occasions that require gazillion-piece orchestras and top shelf liquor open bars. Just ask the Obamas. When they return from their hundredth vacation. In two weeks.

How could you trust this face?

Listen, I love prepubescent boys as much as the next Harry Potter-crazed tween, but should biased “journalists” like David Weigel, who enjoys jokes about health conditions and death, really be trusted to report the news?

From The Daily Caller‘s article “E-mails reveal Post reporter savaging conservatives, rooting for Democrats,” here’s the baby-faced caterpillar-browed writer’s opnion on a garden variety of conservative figures:

“Republicans? “Ratfucking [Obama] on every bill.” Palin?  Tried to “ratfuck” a moderate Republican in a contentious primary in New York. Limbaugh? Used “ratfucking tactics” in urging Republican activists to vote for Hillary Clinton in open primaries after Obama had all but beat her for the Democratic nomination.”

All I get from this is that Weigel likes rats and socialism.

Just days after Republicans were branded “Party of the Rich” by serial vacationist President Obama, wrap dress aficionado Diane von Furstenberg has designed a special bag for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser that took place this evening.

The average DvF bag is $875.

Elena Kagan: “It’s fine if the law bans books because government won’t really enforce it.”

In the category of really scary things, here’s Elena Kagan approving a ban on books, Farenheit 451 style. Nothing says “democracy” like restricting First Amendment rights!

Well NOW who’s going to rep to KKK in the Senate?

Robert Byrd (D-WV), the longest-serving senator in history and a kleagle–that is, a recruiter and member of the Ku Klux Klan, as well as an “exalted cyclops,” has died today at the age of 92 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He has been hospitalized in recent weeks for heat exhaustion, but no official word on the cause of his death has been released.

Al Gore took lessons from his old boss

From the pinnacle of hard news journalism, People magazine:

“The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in Portland confirmed Wednesday that the woman reported unwanted sexual contact by Gore to police in 2006, and the prosecutor’s office was briefed by the Portland Police Bureau in late 2006 and January 2007.

“We were told the woman was not willing to be interviewed by the Portland Police Bureau and did not want a criminal investigation to proceed,” Multnomah County D.A. Michael Schrunk said. The woman was reportedly considering suing Gore before last month approaching the National Enquirer, asking for $1 million for her story.
The woman, who did not respond to several attempted follow-up interviews with police, revealed in the complaint that she grappled with her decision to come forward – even consulting with attorneys – but ultimately decided to do so to protect other women who may have experienced the same trauma.
She told detectives she only wanted “justice” and that her complaint was not an attempt to receive money.”

Congressman Etheridge (D-NC) seems friendly

Dictionary.com defines “assault” as:

Law. an unlawful physical attack upon another; an attempt or offer to do violence to another, with or without battery, as by holding a stone or club in a threatening manner.

Don’t worry, the Washington Post calls this “a hug.”
