Penn Jillette: Obama same as Bush

http://www.downshoredrift.com/.a/6a00d83451d87169e2011278d5491d28a4-500wi

Penn Jillette told uber-liberal Vanity Fair, “The only difference between Obama and Bush is that Obama is killing more people … He’s about double the numbers now. Can you imagine if McCain had won and did precisely what Obama has done, with every speech and every political maneuver overseas? There’d be riots in the streets about the people we’re killing. And yet because it’s Obama, and he’s better looking and better at reading the teleprompter, we let him get away with it.”

Jillette has recently become a frequent commentator on both Fox News and CNN for Glenn Beck and Keith Olbermann, and claims himself to be extremely socially liberally and extremely fiscally conservative.

Sarah Palin quashes “Boobgate”

http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/news/photos/2009/11/19/palin-306-7264565(2).jpg

Sarah Palin when “On the Record” with Greta van Susteren last night to quell the rumors that she had gotten implants. She told the FOXNews reporter:

“No, I have not had implants…I think a report like that is about as real and truthful as those reports that Todd and I are divorcing or that I bought a place in the Hamptons or that Trigg is not my own child.”

She continued, “‘Boobgate’ is all over the Internet right now because there are a lot of, I guess, bored, idle bloggers and reporters with nothing else to talk about.”

Reuters biased? I’m shocked.

Here’s two photos of the exact same scene. One was cropped by Reuters to express and anti-Israel sentiment, and one shows that an Israeli soldier was hurt violently with a knife. From FOXNews:

From Little Green Footballs, the American blog that broke the news about Reuters:

“That’s a very interesting way to crop the photo. Most people would consider that knife an important part of the context. There was a huge controversy over whether the activists were armed. Cropping out a knife, in a picture showing a soldier who’s apparently been stabbed, seems like a very odd editorial decision. Unless someone was trying to hide it.”

T-Pain a Republican?

Who would have guessed that the King of Autotune (and I mean that in a sincerely respectful manner) is a Repub? At the Southern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend, T-Pain told the crowd that he TiVos Sean Hannity’s FOXNEWS show, and even gave a shout out to a “conservative victory 2010.”

Palin and Beck to co-host SNL?

Here’s a titillating offer that ratings-hungry NBC probably can’t, and shouldn’t refuse. Last night, during an interview with the former veep nominee, best-selling author and oft-mocked TV show host Glenn Beck aired that he and Palin would be co-hosts on Saturday Night Live. Beck seemed pessimistic of its likeliness, but Palin seems a little more excited.

Personally I’d be more excited if Tina Fey, Palin’s usual impersonator, got a TV slot to air her political opinions, and if Jason Sudeikis penned his feelings of patriotism in a NYT best-selling book.

Now there’s something that’d be funny.

Rachel Maddow: What a spectacle!

Since going to the White House for a party seems to no longer mandate fashionable or formal clothing, here’s Rachel Maddow sporting some rather, ahem, original eyewear.

The White House threw a party for TV and radio personalities. Even frenemy Fox News had some representation at the party, unlike veep Joe Biden, who was too busy throwing his own party at his private residence. FLOTUS Michelle wore a festive green dress, which matched the designer sushi being passed among Bo Obama-shaped cookies.

Sesame Street trashes Fox News

Call it “your taxpayer dollars at work to indoctrinate small children.” Sesame Street, broadcast on government funded PBS, took a shot at Fox News while pandering to CNN and Anderson Cooper.

In a re-broadcast episode that is 2 years old, the children’s show features Oscar the Grouch creating his own news channel, Grouch News Network, or GNN. The sketch features Anderson Cooper chatting with muppets “Walter Cranky” and “Dan Rather-Not,” plays on Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather.

However, one muppet is not satisfied with GNN, thinking it’s not grouchy enough.

“I am changing the channel,” the livid muppet says. “From now on, I am watching ‘Pox’ News. Now there is a trashy news show.”

Apparently reporting the news, and not sugarcoating the hellwhole America is fast approaching with the sweeping socialist policies of the Obama Administration, is the only thing the realist grouchy muppet will take as a standard of journalism. That’s one astute muppet.

Sesame Workshop Vice President of Corporate Communications Ellen Lewis told FoxNews.com that the show was merely a parody and would never mention Fox News directly.  Sorta.

Lou Dobbs’ house a gunshot victim

A gunshot was aimed at the home of Lou Dobbs, a CNN correspondent, following a number of threatening phone calls to him and his family, Dobbs reported to listeners on his nationally syndicated radio show.

The neocon, who vehemently opposes amnesty and supports full border protection, said, “They’ve created an atmosphere and they’ve been unrelenting in their propaganda,” referring to pro-immigration groups like the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the National Council of La Raza and America’s Voice. “Three weeks ago this morning, a shot was fired at my house where I live. My wife was standing out and that followed weeks and weeks of threatening phone calls.”

William Gheen, president of AILAC, told FoxNews, ““That shot, that attack on the Dobbs family is an attack on every American that values First Amendment rights.

Dobbs commented that he has been vilified by “the national liberal media,” and living with threats and gunshots has “become a way of life.”

White House loses battle against FoxNews

On Thursday, The Obama camp experienced a communist FAIL when it attempted to manipulate the free press by excluding FoxNews, America’s most watched news station, in an interview with outrageously underqualified “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg. Republicans on the Hill ramped up criticism on Obama’s ridiculous politics, which have no respect for the first amendment.

The White House tried to make Feinberg available for interviews to all press outlets except FoxNews. The pool includes five networks, all of the others being largely discredited mouthpieces for the Obama administration.  Unfortunately for Obama, his plan backfired when Washington bureau chiefs of the other networks agreed that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless FoxNews was included. Oops.

The White House’ s hissy fit with FoxNews came after hottie David Axelrod went on “This Week” and said that FoxNews is not a real news organization and other networks “ought not to treat them that way.” So much for free and unfettered press.

Obama inexplicably wins the Nobel Peace Prize

US President Obama took the “prestigious” award home today, and even he admits he doesn’t know what he’s done to deserve the award. Then again, no one was sure what Jimmy Carter or Al Gore did, either, so one must come to the conclusion that it’s really just a matter of picking random heralded democrats and calling them peacemakers.

Voting for the Nobel Peace Prize concluded a mere 12 days after Obama was inaugurated.

Jacked from FoxNews, here’s a rundown on how to secure this award for yourself next year, following Obama’s 12-day plan:

January 20: Sworn in as president. Went to a parade. Partied.

January 21: Asked bureaucrats to re-write guidelines for information requests. Held an “open house” party at the White House.

January 22: Signed Executive Orders: Executive Branch workers to take ethics pledge; re-affirmed Army Field Manual techniques for interrogations; expressed desire to close Gitmo (how’s that working out?)

January 23: Ordered the release of federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries. Lunch with Joe Biden; met with Tim Geithner.

January 24: Budget meeting with economic team.

January 25: Skipped church.

January 26: Gave speech about jobs and energy. Met with Hillary Clinton. Attended Geithner’s  swearing in ceremony.

January 27: Met with Republicans. Spoke at a clock tower in Ohio.

January 28: Economic meetings in the morning, met with Defense secretary in the afternoon.

January 29: Signed Ledbetter Bill overturning Supreme Court decision on lawsuits over wages. Party in the State Room. Met with Biden.

January 30: Met economic advisers. Gave speech on Middle Class Working Families Task Force. Met with senior enlisted military officials.

January 31: Took the day off.

February 1: Skipped church. Threw a Super Bowl party.

So there you have it. The short path to the Nobel Peace Prize: Party, go to meetings, skip church, release federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries, party some more.

Good grief.
