Chelsea Clinton’s wedding playlist

http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/keg-stand.jpg

So apparently the former first daughter has fratastic taste. TMZ has reported that these little gems will be on the playlist at her wedding: ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” U2′s “Beautiful Day,” and Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough.”

Wait, playlist? Will there also be kegstands and cops checking IDs at the door? Do you have to know a brother to get in? Will there be a sign up sheet for beer pong and a separate table for flip cup?I know they’re democrats but there are some occasions that require gazillion-piece orchestras and top shelf liquor open bars. Just ask the Obamas. When they return from their hundredth vacation. In two weeks.

Actress/publicist’s worst nightmare Megan Fox got engaged to 90′s has-been Brian Austin Green awhile ago, and was apparently so excited by his proposal that she threw her arms up in surprise, knocking the dinky 2 karat diamond into the infinite miles of sand of Santa Monica. The only solution? To buy herself a much bigger ring:

Rush Limbaugh and Elton John new BFFs?

http://redriverpak.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/rush-limbaugh-girlfriend-kathryn-rogers.jpg

Well, not exactly. The conservative radio talk show host did have Sir Elton John play his wedding to a fourth wife over the weekend, though. The lavish celebration took place at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL. Rush is rumored to have paid John one million hollers for his musical services.

Guests included Sean Hanntiy, Rudy Giuliani, Mary Matalin and her pesky democrat hubby James Carville, Fred Thompson, and Clarence Thomas.

Elton John rocks the house in Reading, Pennsylvania as he performed all of his classic hits on stage to a sold out crowd that was loving the Rocket Man himself. Elton wraps up his US tour and will head next to Mexico and Europe. Elton did his famous hand stand on the piano that he has done every show for years, but this time he seemed a bit winded as he came back down to the floor and looked to be taking a bit of a breather and then continued to wow the people of Reading,PA. - Prahl/Winslow Splash News

Intern Hilary: It’s wedding season!

With the heat of summer comes wedding season, one of my favorite times of the year.  This past weekend I attended a wedding in St. Louis.  Unfortunately, I was shocked by the apparel and behavior of some of the guests, and as the night progressed, things began to go downhill.

Let me start with proper summer wedding fashion.  I know it’s hot out.  I know the sun is shining.   Does this make it OK to wear skin-tight, skimpy dresses? No!  At the church, more people were gawking at the barely-there dresses on the guests than at the bride’s beautiful one-shoulder stunner.  My date commented that one girl looked like she “stepped right out of a Forever21 or Claire’s catalogue.”  Let’s say it in unison—ewwww.

On another note, if you’re going to go with a short dress, remember that no one sees the size on the tag but you—don’t be afraid to go up a size.  I saw many girls who looked like they were about to pop their dresses open.  Don’t be the stuffed sausage that everyone is whispering about during the toasts.  Soft and flowing is more appropriate than ruched satin any day of the week.

Back to the weekend wedding blunders.  After the initial shock of the tacky dresses wore off, the reception appeared to flow along smoothly.  Well, at least until one guest decided to break up with his girlfriend at the dinner table, and another reduced his girlfriend to tears in his belligerent drunken state.  The point of a wedding is to honor the marriage of the bride and groom, not to sort out one’s own relationship woes in the most public way possible.

When choosing the perfect date to bring to a wedding, it’s usually a better idea to go with someone who can keep his or her cool under the influence.  One particularly sloshed and rowdy girl went around slapping derrieres, including my date’s.  Twice.  Hands off, drunky.  Inappropriate touching is a big no-no, and it’s dangerous to make a redhead mad.  Just sayin’.

So what wedding etiquette have we learned today?  For starters, when getting dressed, remember that it’s the bride’s day to shine, not the perfect opportunity to test-drive the smallest scrap of fabric in your closet.  When attending a wedding, leave unnecessary drama at the door so all the guests can enjoy themselves.  And always remember to go easy on the booze, especially if you’re prone to beer tears or confrontational antics.

Remember people; it’s a wedding, not a free-for-all!  Dress appropriately, watch your drinking, and for the love of cake, keep your hands to yourself!

Hillary Clinton talks about her daughter’s wedding

While warming up for her TV appearance in China to discuss growing tensions with the Korean peninsula, Hillary Clinton gushed about how excited she is about her daughter Chelsea’s wedding:

“It is something that every mother dreams of. And so for me it’s … the most important activity going on in my life now, I have to confess. Don’t tell anybody that but it is such an enjoyable and exciting time for our family.”

Mrs. Clinton is looking forward to remembering her own wedding, where her husband promised to be faithful forever, and where she wore this uncharacteristically not-horrible dress:http://weddingtipster.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/shannons-1970s-hillary-clinton.jpg

Hillary added that the wedding “is the most important activity going on in my life now,” which makes me feel super comfy, since she is the Secretary of State, running around the world trying to defend America’s pigheaded foreign policy.

It’s been a few months since Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky announced their engagement via email (gag), but until now, the former first daughter has not debuted her engagement ring. She stepped out in New York over the weekend–in crutches, due to a broken heel–and gave us all a little peek of the rock. From NY Daily News:
