“Walk This Way” to combine philanthropy and fashion

Becky’s Fund, a DC non-profit with international impact, will be hosting “Walk This Way,” an event that will kick off National Domestic Violence Awareness Month during October. Please join me for this first-ever over-the-pool fashion show. Tickets, which can be purchased at the Becky’s Fund website, will allow guest access to an open bar of premium drinks, delicious poolside hors d’oeuvres, and plenty of custom made fashions from Eric Finn Clothiers. It’s a great way to donate to this uplifting and inspiring cause!

 The Event:

Pro Bowl Redskins’ Running back Clinton Portis and Eric Finn Custom Clothiers are proud to host a modern fundraiser for Becky’s Fund, a non-profit organization which raises awareness and helps prevent domestic violence in our community.  The event will be held on the evening of Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Liaison Hotel. The Liaison Hotel, near the Capitol, boasts the largest roof-top pool and patio area of all of DC’s major hotels. 

The evening will feature the first DC over-the-pool runway show showcasing the impeccable custom clothes of Eric Finn. Models will include Clinton Portis and other celebrated guests including former and current professional athletes. Cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres will be provided throughout the evening. The event promises to attract many of the DC area’s elite and affluent. We are seeking luxury partners to help promote and fund this exclusive affair with various sponsorship opportunities.

Why: Domestic violence currently impacts one in three women in her lifetime and can happen to anyone regardless of age, race or socioeconomic status. The mission of Becky’s Fund is to prevent domestic violence by fostering awareness, encouraging advocacy among peers, promoting activism through outreach programs and creating support for victims. This signature event will not only be an evening to remember but will benefit Becky’s Fund and continue to spread the message of respect, hope and empowerment.

We have three different ticket levels which may be purchased singularly or in pairs.  There will be no ticket sales at the door.


Regular Ticket: $125 (open bar from 6-10 pm)

VIP Ticket: $200 (open bar from 6-10 pm, one bottle of champagne, and VIP access)

VIP Eric Finn Ticket: $300 (open bar from 6-10 pm, bottle of champagne, VIP access, and a men’s special pricing custom dress shirt)

Be “fashionably courageous” at Liaison rooftop pool party to benefit Courage Cup

Join me at this fun and fashionable event to raise money for a great cause!
(Washington, D.C.) – On Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the Liaison, an Affinia Hotel at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  Some of the ‘Who’s Who’ in the Washington, D.C. Social, Fashion, Polo and Philanthropy scene will gather together to present ‘Adult Swim: A Dare to Be Fashionably Courageous,’ a charity fashion show to benefit the non-profit organization, The Courage Cup- an IRS designated 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation which was established to help at-risk urban youth by supporting and raising awareness for programs in the mid-Atlantic region which give disadvantaged children individualized attention and a positive alternative activity to keep them in school and off the streets. 

The highlight of the event will be a one-of-a-kind summer swimwear fashion show where models, Washington’s Wizard Girls and Washington Post Live host, Ivan Carter will be strutting the runway in high-end swimwear designs from local chic luxury boutique, SyLene and fine designer jewelry from Mystique Jewelers, including pieces by Award-winning designer, Alberto Parada who will be in attendance. Additionally, models will be glammed up by celebrity hairstylist team of Ted Gibson Salon. Some of Washington’s best are expected to attend including philanthropist and model, Katie Rost and Rynthia Rost, VP of Public Affairs at GEICO. Masters of ceremonies will be honored by the fabulous Face of DC 50 CW’s Paul Wharton, also founder of Evolution Look Online and Capitol Hill CFL Wellness & Aesthetics Spa.
 
The roof top pool parties have been one of the most talked about Sunday parties in the District, bringing over 400 Washingtonians out every Sunday to experience a ‘South Beach’ style event Capitol side at the Liaison’s beautiful roof top pool. According to the Washington Post, “no one has managed to bring the high-end lounge atmosphere alfresco like the creators of Adult Swim, the Sunday afternoon party atop the Hill’s Liaison hotel. “ This Sunday’s event will not fail to bring that “high-end lounge atmosphere alfresco” once again. About the Courage Cup
 
An IRS designated 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation which was established to help at-risk urban youth. They support programs in the mid-Atlantic region which give disadvantaged children individualized attention and a positive alternative activity to keep them in school and off the streets. The Courage Cup hosts an annual polo fundraiser to benefit at-risk youth by supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Sierra Club’s Inner City Outings, and Loudon Do Something Now, and features the talented polo playing at-risk youth of the Work to Ride program.
