While we’re still in a tizzy over the White House crashers that have basically brought upon themselves a bevy of suspicions, let’s not forget the main point of the Obamas’ State Dinner: to splash about tens of thousands of dollars on a lavish dinner to which pretty much anyone with an exotic last name can gain access.
Problematically, there were quite a few typos riddling the “Night in Versailles” dinner menu, leading one to wonder: if no one’s checking the menu, or the security, where are all our stimulus dollars going?
Catalogued by CNN, here are misspellings that were found on the menu:
–The Riesling was bottled in “Willamette Valley, Oregon” not “Wilamette Valley”; guests were actually offered a “2007 Grenache” (not a “2007 Granache”) and a “Thibaut-Janisson Brut” (not a “Thibaut Janisson Brut”)
–The meal featured “chick peas” (not “chickpeas”)
–The dessert “Gelees” were missing an accent on the final “e”
Oops.
