"God and Guns" pastor leaves the church for more civic role

Pastor Ken Pagano of New Bethel Church in Louisville, KY received many positive reactions when he hosted a “God and Guns” event at his church earlier this year. Now he’s taking his passion for self protection to a new level, leaving to focus specifically on church security and the Second Amendment.

He ended his 30-year long run as a pastor to focus on this more public role.

Around 200 people went to Pagano’s “Open Carry Celebration” during June, which made him realize he may have another calling in life: keeping worshippers safe. The celebration commemorated the history of gun ownership and its relation to religion, and culminated in a raffle for a handgun. Firearms safety info was also disseminated.
