I though Michelle was starting the “trend” of wearing fake jewels and stones, but I guess Jackie O. beat her to it.
From POLITICO (who I generally love but should learn how to spell “gem”):
Want to own one of Jackie O’s famous accessories? Thanks to an auction later this month, a three-strand faux pearl and jem [SIC!] necklace formerly belonging to her can be yours.
The necklace, which the former first lady wore during her time in the White House, is up for auction on August 15 and is expected to go for somewhere between $39,300 to $47,200, the Huffington Post reported on Tuesday. The piece is described on the website of Bonham’s, the British auction house, as being comprised of “champagne-colored ‘pearls’ with an ’emerald’ and ‘diamond’ sterling silver clasp.”
