The Washington Humane Society’s Valentine’s themed benefit is always a hit, and this year was no different. With both a dazzling array of sugary confections and hearty savory treats, not to mention the ubiquitous dog goodies that looked like delectable human food, there was something for everybody. Guests, as with any Washington Humane Society event, were encouraged to bring their pets, and proud puppy owners dressed up their four legged friends in everything from tuxedos to tutus.
Top Chef favorite Carla Hall was on the scene to serve up her creations, while local favorite restaurants like Zentan, Cuba Libre, Founding Farmers, and Market Salamander offered up a wide selection of mostly-vegetarian dinner selections. Desserts were abundant, and cupcakeries like Hello Cupcake and PamCakes showed off with specially designed animal themed decorations. Dolci Gelati served up the creamy Italian treat, while specialty Chocolate shops brought their finest. Wine from local wineries like Boxwood and Thibaut-Janisson Winery rounded out the festive atmosphere.
