Washington, DC – Flavors of Fashion©, a unique collaboration born out of vitaminwater zero™ and its Top Dog Sponsorship of the 5th Annual Fashion for Paws® Runway Show benefiting the Washington Humane Society (WHS), will be showcased at this year’s sold out (only 9 VIP tables left) event on April 9, 2011.
FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and FIDM’s graduate, Clay Sadler are the creative brains behind this year’s five-piece one-of-a-kind collection inspired by the flavors of vitaminwater zero™ , a naturally sweetened, great tasting, zero-calorie per 8 fl oz serving beverage!
Drawing inspirations for the Flavors of Fashion© collection from five unique vitaminwater zero™ flavors such as “go-go” and “squeezed”, Sadler translates the bold colors, distinctive textures, creative descriptions and names for each of the selected flavors into this couture line. Along with an imagined action to go with each piece, Sadler creates an energy and movement in the collection that will be further emphasized by the colors and fabrics giving each piece a unique personality–much like each vitaminwater zero™ flavor. Silk duchesse satin, four-foot inverted ball gown, and cascading ruffles are just some of the many fabrics and techniques in which Sadler utilized to translate flavor descriptions such as “massive”, “intricate,” and “vibrant” into his creative vision.
Live models provided by T·H·E Artist Agency will be transformed into beautiful live mannequins adorned with this dramatic collection to be displayed on large pedestals throughout the event space created by Syzygy Event Productions at the National Building Museum during this year’s annual Fashion for Paws® Runway Show on April 9th.
