Arts for Aging Gala

Washington notables gathered at the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to celebrate Arts for the Aging’s (AFTA) 23rd annual gala. A VIP reception was held to start off the evening, with passed hors d’oeuvres characteristic of Luxembourg and festive champagne toasts.

Both silent and live auctions were held to raise money for the non-profit, which describes itself as a “pioneering organization that provides outreach programs specially designed to engage older adults in health improvement and life enhancement through the arts.” Accordingly, the silent auction featured many impressive art, jewelry, and decorative pieces, in addition to experiences like a bridge class and a golf outing.

The short program included the presentation of the 4th Annual Lolo Sarnoff Award to Dr. Dorothy Kosinski, Director for The Phillips Collection. A dinner buffet featuring an eclectic and multicultural array of cuisines concluded the evening, though guests lingered well into the evening enjoying the beautiful Embassy and mingling with one another.
