Jazz pianist Keiko Matsui to perform at newly renovated historic Bethesda venue
WASHINGTON – March 11, 2013 – The S&R Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports talented individuals with high aspirations in the arts and sciences, host its inaugural Spring Celebration Gala. The celebration will feature internationally acclaimed jazz pianist, Keiko Matsui performing in one of the first concerts at the newly renovated Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club. Ms. Matsui’s performance at the Spring Celebration Gala will follow her sold out Overtures Spring Series concert at Evermay.

A performer who has travelled across the globe, Keiko is known for the blending of international influences that contributes to her unique musical style,” said Dr. Sachiko Kuno, president and CEO of the S&R Foundation. “The S&R Foundation has a great respect for the preservation of historic venues and we are honored to present one of the first concerts at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club after the theater’s renovation and restoration.”

WHO: The performance will feature internationally acclaimed jazz pianist, Keiko Matsui. Ms. Matsui’s career has spanned three decades and the release of more than twenty recordings. Her work represents musical influences from around the world and a blend of styles including jazz, classical, world and new age music.
Gwen Tolbart, award-winning anchor for FOX 5 WTTG-TV, will serve as emcee for the event.
TICKETS: Both table seating and theater seating options are available. Table seating includes admission to a pre-concert cocktail reception and dinner.
