We dropped by the Marriott Wardman to attend the reception for The Children’s Inn Gala Saturday evening, joining black-tie attendees in celebrating one of AFCEA’s best-known designated charities.
The Children’s Inn Gala is supported by the Bethesda Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and is the largest fundraiser for the Inn. Each year, the event brings together leading government contractors, government officials and local philanthropists in support of the Inn’s residents.
“AFCEA Bethesda has been honored to host The Children’s Inn Gala to help provide a place of hope for its seriously ill young residents and their families,” said Teresa Bozzelli, Vice President and Managing Director of Sapient Government Services and Chair of The Children’s Inn Gala. “Thank you to all of those who have already given their support. And for others, please consider giving to this amazing and worthwhile cause.”
The Children’s Inn at NIH offers a “place like home” for seriously ill children and their families, who are visiting NIH to undergo treatment for their life-threatening diseases. Because The Inn does not receive any appropriated funds, it relies entirely on the generosity of outside donors like Bethesda AFCEA. The chapter sponsors an annual gala and other fundraising events and donates the proceeds to The Children’s Inn.
