On Friday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m., La Maison Française at the Embassy of France opens its doors to Washingtonians for La Fête de la Musique.
Capturing the true spirit of the summer solstice celebration founded in 1982, this free event will be dedicated to live music, with performances by Washington’s Origem, presenting a mix of Brazilian, jazz, funk and rock; and Cheick Hamala Diabate, a historian and performer who will take us on a cultural journey with his magical West African songs.
Simultaneously around the world on June 21st, the Fête de la Musique will be presented on five continents, 110 countries and over 430 cities. We look forward to welcoming the public to the Embassy of France’s La Maison Francaise for a festive three hours of music and dance!
