DC Wine Week Kick Off: Veni Vidi Vino at Veritas

The DC Wine Week 2013 Kick Off party, “Veritas VIP: Veni Vidi Vino”, set the tone for what is anticipated to be a great wine-filled week. Members of the media, wine industry and bloggers joined Wine Director Jamie Smith of Veritas Wine Bar for a night of wine tasting. Guests enjoyed seven varietals all paired with charcuterie: beginning with sparkling whites, then on to heavier reds and finishing up with a sparkling white apéritif.

The selection of pourings, the 50 plus guests and the intimate atmosphere of Veritas sum up what DC Wine Week is all about– celebrating all things wine. In its third year, DC Wine Week’s list of official events is providing an array of ways to enjoy wine across the District—from Oysters and Wine to an Italian Wine Fest to Vino and Bocce outdoors, no wonder DC’s Mayor Vincent Gray officially proclaimed this week for the third year in a row!
