The SOME Junior Gala is an evening of cocktails and dancing for young professionals held every February. The event supports SOME’s Affordable Housing programs for the homeless and very low income.

Proceeds from the event will support SOME’s housing programs that will open as part of our Affordable Housing Initiative.

Sweethearts and Patriots Gala

Young members of the DC Society, Sons of the American Revolution (DCSSAR) cordially invite you to the first annual Sweethearts and Patriots gala. The patriotic black-tie (optional) gala, hosted by young members of the DCSSAR will be held at the historic City Tavern Club in the heart of Georgetown. Attendees will enjoy an open bar, desserts, dancing, socializing and the opportunity to bid on incredible items at our Silent Auction.

Proceeds from the gala will benefit Luke’s Wings and help ensure every Wounded Warrior  is with their Sweetheart on Valentines Day. In June 2013, the DAR Medal of Honor was presented to Fletcher D. Gill, CEO of Luke’s Wings, recognizing his work to support wounded service members.

Luke’s Wings is a 501(c)3 dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle. Recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitiation. 66th Annual “An Affair of the Heart” Luncheon and Fashion Show

WHAT: The Women’s Board of the American Heart Association Greater Washington Region presents the 66th Annual “An Affair of the Heart” Luncheon and Fashion Show to benefit heart research and education. DC society will step out to this high-end event hosting around 1000 attendees. Bloomingdale’s will present theFashion Show which will feature top designer collections along with exclusive pieces from the Spring 2014 collection. This year, news anchors from television stations, WUSA9, NBC Washington, ABC 7 and Fox 5 DC will model the latest in Spring fashion in support of the American Heart Association.  ABC 7’s Allison Starling will serve as the event emcee.
