Capping off a month of bridal shows, “A Chic Affair” at Longview Gallery was held last weekend for brides- and grooms-to-be looking for inspiration and ideas to implement at their upcoming weddings.
Vendors included the usual suspects: caterers, hair and makeup professionals, photogs, stationery specialists, and everyone else one might need to consult before the big day. Guests enjoyed on-the-spot mini spa treatments, all while sipping mimosas and enjoying hors d’oeuvres and cake samples.
A fashion show concluded the Sunday afternoon event. On the catwalk were Spring 2014 Collections by Lovely Bride, featuring Amaryllis, 2hands studio, John Farr Lighting Design, and Carola Meyers. Headpieces seem to be big this year, and many models traipsed down the outdoor runway with pieces ranging from delicate and intricate to ginormous and overstated. The collections included gowns of all different varieties, with the expected tulle and chiffon fabrics most heavily represented.
Brides looking for help got what they came for: several guests walked home with raffle prizes, and the swag bags included thoughtful, useful items for every bride.
