Washington, DC – SwatchRoom, the new Shaw-based creative design studio, hosted their Inaugural Salon Party Friday, March 7 – Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Hierarchy DC.

The weekend celebration showcased the work of over 25 local artists, craftsmen, and jewelers.  The three-day event welcomed over 400 guests, raised awareness of the thriving local art scene and successfully raised over $5,000 for Project SOAR through art and ticket sales.

“Each of the artists that exhibited their work was incredibly generous by donating a portion of their sales to Project SOAR”, says SwatchRoom Co-Founder Maggie O’Neill.  “We couldn’t have asked for better support from our family, friends, clients, and community.  This event proves that DC’s art scene is flourishing, which is part of the reason Maggie and I joined forces to create SwatchRoom”, added SwatchRoom Co-Founder Warren Weixler.

In addition to every inch of wall space covered in beautifully arranged art and photography, attendees were entertained by DJ’s, LIVE painting by Maggie O’Neill and breakdancing by The LAB DC.  The weekend wrapped up with a special presentation by Maryam Montague, author, hotelier, award-winning blogger, and founder of Project SOAR.  Art designed by the girls of Project SOAR was sold during Montague’s presentation with all proceeds benefitting the charity.
