Brewer’s Ball DC 2015

The Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is looking forward to hosting the 10th  Anniversary matchboxfoodgroup D.C. Brewer’s Ball Presented by The Beer Institute and Groupon.

Returning for its 3rd year at the beautiful National Building Museum, this event continues toward its goal: to serve up hope, one pint at a time.

See photos from last year’s sold-out event!

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation hosts the Brewer’s Ball each year to raise money to help fund programs and research on this genetic, life-threatening disease that affects about 30,000 people in the United States. Approximately 10 million additional people are carriers of the gene that causes cystic fibrosis (CF). CF attacks the lungs by building up a thick layer of mucus that causes respiratory problems and infections.

For this Craft Beer event of the season, breweries and restaurants will set up shop at the National Building Museum to entertain attendees.

Local favorites like Bluejacket, Mad Fox Brewery, Port City, Heavy Seas and Flying Dog will rub elbows with nationally renowned brands like Dogfish Head, Goose Island, Ommegang, Lagunitas, and Allagash. Representatives from many of the breweries will be on-hand to chat about the beers they’re serving, which gives both beer aficionados and beginners plenty of chances to ask questions and learn more about the beer and breweries. Area restaurants like Matchbox, Ted Bulletin, H Street’s Granville Moore’s and Meridian Pint will provide their signature dishes to go with the beer selections.

Don’t worry if you are not a beer fan – Total Wine & More will be serving several wine selections and the Cocktail Guru will be pouring a beer-inspired cocktail & delicious mocktail for the designated drivers.

While attendees nosh on local delicacies and sample their favorite beer, they can peruse and bid on hundreds of silent auction items.  The auction, with a wide array of items perfect for any size wallet, features items such as beer baskets, one of a kind experiences and exotic trips. A live band, the VIPS, will be keeping attendees energized and dancing the night away!
