Girls Inc. of the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area invites members of the community to the POWER OF THE PURSE fundraiser, an inspirational evening dedicated to trailblazing women, at the National Museum for Women in the Arts from 6 – 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Girls Inc. will honor women who are champion of change in the community and through a lively auction, will give attendees a chance to walk away with a stylish handbag.
All proceeds from the POWER OF PURSE will directly support programs that advance Girls Inc.’s mission of “Inspiring All Girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold.”
Awarding-winning journalist and WUSA9 Anchor Lesli Foster will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies.
The POWER OF THE PURSE honorees include Admiral Michelle Janine Howard, the 38th Vice Chief of Naval Operations; Ana Recio Harvey, Director, Department of Small and Local Business Development, for the DC Government and Courtney R. Snowden, Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity for DC.
