Back on My Feet Blue & Green Birthday Bash

After hearing about Back on My Feet, you’ll never again have a good excuse not to run. The organization, which hosted its annual birthday bash at the JW Marriott last Thursday, helps rehabilitate the homeless through running. BOMF believes running fosters discipline and determination and helps members move toward self-sufficiency. Often, it’s the only activity that gets its members out of bed in the morning. Washington Humane Society’s Fashion for Paws

The catwalk went to the dogs last Saturday night as the Washington Humane Society hosted its eighth annual Fashion for Paws. Held at the Omni Shoreham, the fashion show featured more than 20 District animal lovers walking their dogs down the runway. Both the two- and four-legged models were dressed to impress. Owners were outfitted by local shops, while Wagtime’s Lisa Schreiber styled the pets. Although each owner had raised at least $5,000 for WHS—and one had raised more than $60,000 over the last few years—the pets were the stars of the show.
